Sacramento Bank Repo Homes Being Sold at Record Low Prices

Sacramento is the capital of California State and is the seat of Sacramento County. It hugs the Sacramento River and is the heartbeat of the metropolitan region consisting of the four counties of El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Yolo. Today Sacramento Bank Repo Homes have brought it another dubious fame. These repossessed homes or REO’s (Real Estate Owned) are dotted across the region – a living reminder of the foreclosure crisis that continues to batter California. Sacramento has been praised for being the most integrated city in USA. Unfortunately a counter charge has been brought that it is the minorities comprising of the Blacks and a good number of Hispanics who have been foreclosed upon. Their eviction and tears have led to the innumerable Sacramento bank repo homes.

But there is always another side to a coin. Sacramento bank repo homes are opening up opportunities to many for snapping up bargain deals at record low prices. Once more houses are becoming affordable to those with modest income. The banks are desperate to sell these repossessed homes to get back their own bearings.

But unless the economy picks up and people have money in their pockets sales of Sacramento bank repo homes cannot pick up speed. The economy of Sacramento suffered when the military bases were closed down during the 80’s and 90’s. In Sacramento the government is the biggest employer but with budget deficits the government has also started slicing jobs trying to balance dwindling revenue. The food processing units also suffered decline. But despite this population grew leading to a demand for housing. This led to the housing boom that ultimately led to the bust and the dotting of the city with Sacramento bank repo homes.

In the first quarter of 2009 California ranked third in the foreclosure rate race with a proportion of 1:58. The first and second positions were occupied by Nevada (1:27) and Arizona (1:54) respectively.

The foreclosure crisis has led to the mushrooming of fake consultancy firms that are, in the name of giving help, in reality fleecing the people. The government has initiated laws that will make it compulsory for consultants to register themselves by the end of June if they want to continue business.

Foreclosed house numbers (by foreclosure all the three stages are included – default, auction and bank repossession) increased in all the counties of the Sacramento region in April on a month-to-month count. But it is lower than what it was a year ago.
